Terms of use

Last updated: October 25, 2026

Welcome to American Unsecured. By accessing or using our website and connection service (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully.

1. The Service

American Unsecured is not a lender and does not make credit decisions, fund loans, or broker loans. We operate a free service that connects consumers who submit a request with lenders and lending partners in our network. We do not guarantee that you will be matched with a lender or that any lender will make you an offer.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service you must be at least 18 years old, a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and able to enter into a binding contract. The Service is not available in all states.

3. Your responsibilities

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information in your request.
  • Use the Service only for lawful purposes and for your own personal use.
  • Review every loan offer — including all rates, fees, and terms — before accepting it.

4. Relationship with lenders

Any loan you accept is a transaction solely between you and the lender. American Unsecured is not a party to that agreement and is not responsible for the terms, servicing, collection, or any other aspect of a loan you obtain. Lenders' rates, fees, and terms vary and are governed by their own agreements and by applicable law.

5. No warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will result in a loan offer.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, American Unsecured will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service or from any loan you obtain through a lender in our network.

7. Changes

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Consumer Advisory

Short-term and small-dollar loans should be used for short-term financial needs only, not as a long-term financial solution. Borrowers with credit difficulties should seek credit counseling. These loans can carry higher rates and fees than other forms of credit, and renewing or extending a loan rather than repaying it in full can significantly increase its total cost.

Before accepting any offer, make sure you understand the full cost of the loan, the repayment schedule, and the consequences of late or missed payments. Borrow only what you can afford to repay. Lenders are required to follow applicable federal and state laws, and the availability of loans varies by state.
